They all are still working perfectly except one which worked for a year and then deflated (didn't bother finding the leak). So all in all we're pretty happy with Coleman air beds. I have five Coleman inflatable mattresses, four beds. So four out of five is pretty good value considering another air bed product we bought, rated a best buy, constantly needed air and finally became worthless as well within a year.
Good buy. Got it from Amazon the price was great and it also splits into 2 twins. You will need to get a pump.
The heck with lugging mattresses and box spings around and having to turn them and clean them. Thank you, Coleman. I followed other reviewers' tips and rolled a blanket into the zippered groove part and we have had no problem at all.We are looking at other sizes for our other bedroom sets, including doubles and queens. It may turn out to be ~ like it was for us ~ one of the best mattresses you ever slept on.
These air beds are the way to go and we are planning on using them exclusively in our home. We are still amazed that we found the best mattress we have ever slept on this cheap. I ordered the king size, liked the versatility of having singles or a king for guests in the future. So cheap, we can afford a spare or two to have in case anything happens to this one. The second night, he asked if I had reviewed it yet and asked me to say that he "wishes he could wear it on his back like a turtle wears a shell" ~ that it is THAT comfortable. We purchased a Coleman pump for around $15 at a local department store and it took only minutes to get both sides inflated. I had researched air beds on amazon.com and we finally settled on this one.
It was delivered four days before the estimated arrival date, so thanks Amazon for coming through again on super-fast shipping.I doubt a guest will ever sleep on this particular mattress however. It has needed about one air top-off a week, but we are already planning a platform bed to place it on to make it into a more formal piece of furniture. Of course, the Coleman brand also has a lot going for it as far as construction and durability. What other mattress could anyone ever say that about. Moving, we were at first leaving the majority of our furnishings in storage, three states away ~ but we were going to need a decent bed and something preferably quick, easy and hassle-free. Having had all the best "normal" mattresses, Serta, etc., and a number of water-filled beds (gel and pack included) in the past, this mattress is the best either my husband or I have ever slept on.
Don't be afraid to purchase one of these and especially at this price.
Last summer a big group of our friends were going camping for the fourth and we really wanted to go. I have even joked with my husband about using it as our regular bed at home. I did still have some trouble with getting up and down. I was very happy with how comfortable this bed is.
I recommend this bed for anyone with health problems. I was worried about using an air bed in these locations. We live in a high desert and there are a lot of stickers around the lakes where we go camping. When our motorhome bed became too uncomfortable for me to sleep in, I thought my camping days were done for sure. I am only 38 and my husband and I love camping so this was very hard for me to accept. I got this bed because it can be a tall twin without the metal brackets that so many of our friends have wasted a lot of money on and have not held up. We ordered two so we could stack them and it worked out great.
We have yet to have an issue with this bed. I have several health concerns including degenerative arthritis of the spine and fibromyalgia. I decided to give an air bed a chance based on the agreement that our trip might have to be cut short. It was also very sturdy.
Unknown why they call it a 4-1 because it only has two functions - twin or folds out to a king. Folds up nicely for storage. You will need a pump but inflates quickly. Enjoy the elevation off ground when it's stacked for a twin.
